This Napa Valley Merlot is sourced exclusively from a single vineyard in Chiles Valley, which lies in the eastern hills of Napa’s Vaca Mountain range. A special site with head-trained vines, it was planted in the early 90's with wide spacing and room to let the vines grow into beautifully monolithic and gnarled beasts. This vineyard harkens back to the Napa of the past, wild and free.

These mature Merlot vines provide structure, power and elegance. The wine is aged for 20 months in 50% new Bordelaise French oak barrels.

A beautiful bouquet of fennel and rhubarb and ending with ripe red and black fruit. Bing cherry and cranberry followed by leather and baking spice, with a touch of dark tobacco on the finish.
